With the International Film Festival, the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, MIPTV, MIPCOM, MIDEM and CANNESERIES, the city of Cannes brings entertainment industry leaders together in an exceptional setting with state of the art infrastructure. With its CANNES ON AIR program, the City Council is developing the audiovisual sector with the aim of making the city a production hub for every aspect of content creation. It is within this framework that the Cannes City Council and its partners have created distinguished training courses dedicated to screenwriting, such as Talent Unlimited.

Created in 2018 and chaired by former French Minister if Culture and Communications, Fleur Pellerin, the CANNESERIES festival aims to promote and represent and be the reference for the best series from around the world. Its aim is to showcase the preeminent talents pf today, as well as discover the talents of tomorrow in the contecxt of a not-to-be-missed , international competition for series of all genres, all formats and for all audiences.

In charge of financing the creators of today and tomorrow, and regulating the film and audiovisual markets, its mission is also to acknowledge the memory and legacy of the past. With its deep roots in cinema, the Center is now active in all aspects and platforms of the moving image, from audiovisual works to interactive digital universes.

Since 2005, each December, the Black List releases its annual survey of the most like, unproduced screenplays of that year. The annual lists are aggregated using votes from film executives working in the film industry, and have included such Oscar winning films as JUNO, THE KING’S SPEECH and ARGO. At its heart the annual Black Lists are meant to shine a light on extraordinary screenwriting, some of which may have been overlooked more broadly.
