Marianne BARROUILLET
Award winner
Following her studies at the Sorbonne, the University of Paris and the University of Chicago, and a after a stint as an assistant director – notably with Macha Makeïeff, Marianne attended La Fémis with a concentration in screenwriting. She is the winner of the 2020 edition of the Storytelling for her psychological horror feature film, Dogs Out There.
Lily LANDECY
Lily is a Swiss, French and American director and screenwriter based in Paris. Her graduation short “La Chrysalide”, a horrific drama about two sisters competing in the same ice skating team, won a dozen awards and was selected in a number of international festivals. Lily also writes stories with images, through her work in photography, editing and fine art.
Alexis BESSIN
In parallel to his film studies, ALEXIS BESSIN is the author of several self-produced short films including Ars Topiara (2016) then Vroum-Vroum Pan (2019). He has also directed several commercials for the Axa group, and worked as a video analyst for the Stade Lavallois soccer club. In September 2021, he will join the Creation of Series program at La Fémis. He defines himself as an author working on comedy “at its most serious”. His ambition? Simply to “surprise”.
Mareike ENGELHARDT
Mareike studied comparative Literature, History of art and Psychology in Berlin, Paris and London before making her first films, filming dancers in the New York subway. She continues to collaborate with choreographers on multi-media dance pieces that are shown worldwide, while making her first fictional short films. Mareike continues to alternate between experimental films and narrative fiction and has worked as an assistant director for, amongst others, Volker Schlöndorff and Roman Polanski. After a screen writing course at La Fémis film school, she is now preparing to shoot her first feature film in 2022, while writing the second and directing a web series for German television.
Claire BARRAULT
Writer/Director, Claire Barrault directed her first produced short film (“T’es con Simon!” with André Wilms) in 2016 followed by her second short film “Hasta Luego” in 2018. In the same year, one of her writing projects (“La Bataille de Yolande”) won the Beaumarchais grant. In parallel, she works in production as a production manager on a French-American feature film (“Joan of Arc”), and as a production assistant on the dubbing of the series “The Blacklist”, VKRS. She is currently working as a scriptwriter with Jacques Exertier on a game in production at Ubisoft. Her third short film (“La Cour des Miracles”, produced by Jonathan Hazan, Les Films du Cygne), is the winner of a writing grant from the Ile de France region, and is currently in pre-production.
Guillaume MARTINEZ
