Nandini ANITA RAO

Award winner

Nandini Rao is a screenwriter based in Paris. She grew up in Bangalore, India where she started out in the theatre , acting in numerous productions as a member of the Artists Repertory Theatre company. Harnessing skills developed as an actor, a copywriter, as well as a published author of fiction and journalistic articles, Nandini has since channelled her dramatic pursuits into screenwriting. Her focus is on telling internationally relevant stories from an Eastern point of view.

Segolene DAVIN

Segolene is a French scriptwriter and director. After graduating from Sciences Po in International Relations, she started to work in documentary filmmaking in France and abroad. In 2018, she shot a documentary series about Iranian young women in Iran, Selfiraniennes, and initiated her first feature in the La Fémis’ Scriptwriting workshop. Currently, she is working on various series’ projects, while continuing to develop her feature film (selected for the 2021 CannesFilms Unlimited international residency). Common themes in her works: strong female characters, social issues and comedy

Leigha DALIET

Leigha Marie Daliet is a southern belle, calling both Texas and Louisiana home.  She is currently a Senior at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts majoring in Writing for Screen and Television with a minor in Performance Science. Leigha is invested in exploring the human condition within her writing, in all of its beauty and chaos. Recently, she has been selected to participate in CannesFilms Unlimited, an internationally renowned writing residency aimed at developing the next generation of screenwriters.

Samantha SILVAY

Samantha Silvay is a Slovak-American screenwriter raised in New York and currently based in Los Angeles. Before entering the industry, she received her BA in both Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and English with a Concentration in Creative Writing from Colby College. Two trips to the Sundance Film Festival inspired her to switch paths and attend The AFI where she earned her MFA in Screenwriting. Since graduating from the AFI in 2018, her scripts have placed in several notable competitions including Launch Pad, Roadmap Jumpstart, Austin Film Festival, and ScreenCraft as well as had successful stints of hosting on The Black List. Her work spans all genres yet shares a common thread of crafting intimate human portraits in the service of shedding light on broad social and philosophical issues.

Vince ROBBINS

Vince Robbins is a screenwriter from Los Angeles. Vince is passionate about under-appreciated history, characters that battle themselves, and stories that teach us to be better humans. His feature films screenplays intersect genres — historical, coming of age, romance, and dramedy — and have been recognized by the Academy Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, and the Tracking Board

Dan JOHNSON

Dan Johnson is a writer born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. After graduating from Northwestern University, Dan moved to Chicago to work for The Onion in their video division, the Onion News Network. While there, Dan contributed to shows such as Today Now!, Onion Film Standard, and Tough Season, as well as working to develop and launch the website Clickhole. After his time at The Onion, Dan moved to Los Angeles, where he’s currently writing and developing for TV, Film, and podcasts.

Olivier CIECHELSKI

Olivier Ciechelski is a screenwriter, director and consultant.After two self-produced short films, he turned to documentaries with De Profundis (co-directed with Laetitia Mikles, selected at the F.I.D. Marseille and at Lussas), and Lettre du dernier étage (Letter from the last floor), produced by the G.R.E.C. and awarded in numerous festivals in France and abroad.Two short fictions will follow: L’écluse (Semaine de la Critique, Cannes) and Le Rêve de Jacob (Jacob’s Dream), as well as several series and feature film projects in development.Olivier also teaches screenwriting and has produced several radio documentaries for France Culture
